Australian Road Rider Magazine FINALIST in COVER OF THE YEAR And only motorcycle magazine to finalise in the Maggies 2014

Australian Road Rider made FINALIST in the Maggies Magazine Cover of the Year Awards last night at the MCA Sydney.

Australian Road Rider was the only magazine from the motorcycling fraternity to finalise.

The cover that received Finalist Honours was No 103, featuring the iconic BMW R 1200 GS Adventure making a splash on a remote beach.

The Maggies recognise commercial success with readers

Maggies finalists must demonstrate a high standard of imaginative design, photography, illustration and sales impact.

The successful titles must balance the image with the coverlines and encapsulate the brand with something unexpected that grabs the attention of the consumer. Judges at the Maggies look for a cover that speaks to the audience. Nominated covers must have achieved commercial success.

“We’d like to thank judges Ita Buttrose, Deborah Hutton, Mark Fletcher, James Manning, Phil Scott, Andrew Burge, Andrew Cowell, Mary Ann Azer and Sarah Wilson, plus all the Road Rider fans who helped nominate us and make this issue a great success,” said Editor Mick Matheson.

Night honours were taken by Who Magazine, which won overall for its tongue-in-cheek Sexiest People of 2013 cover. “The Maggies pits all magazines against each other so we are thrilled to have made finalist out of all the major men’s and women’s magazine brands,” said Publisher Janice Williams.
